As the tagline to the blog indicates, I consider cities seriously, and this blog will consider them seriously. I realize, though, that what I will be looking at will often be trivial and should not be taken to seriously. It may sounds contradictory to say that, which makes sense, because that is the situation.

There are many blogs, books, articles, lectures, and who knows what else that seriously explore the concepts, aspects, building blocks, histories, and workings of cities. In almost all cases, these writings have been compiled and written by people with more knowledge, insight, and training that myself. I have often found myself wanting to join these ranks and write thoughtfully and intelligently on these many topics surrounding cities that I find so interesting. This blog is not that. Instead, I have decided to go the route of the unqualified and just explore.
